Investigation Plan

What is an investigation plan and when should you use it?

There are occasions when it will be necessary for you to carry out an internal investigation in your workplace.

This may be in response to an employee grievance or as part of your disciplinary process.

This template will assist your appointed investigator to put a plan in place to ensure that the investigation is carried out correctly.

An investigator should be looking for evidence that supports the allegation and evidence that contradicts it.

A properly conducted investigation should enable you to fully consider the matter and then make an informed decision on it.

It is not the investigator’s role to prove the guilt or otherwise of any party but to investigate if there is a case to answer and then to provide you with his/her findings.
